LPO Student & Teacher Grants Are Here!

Grant applications are open NOW!

This year, the LPO is excited to announce that current students have an opportunity to submit grant requests with a sponsoring teacher or staff member. If your student has an idea they believe would benefit LHS and its community that needs funding, encourage them to submit an application!

Annually the Lancer Parent Organization funds grant applications for the Lafayette High School community.  Through the 2022-2023 school year grant process, LPO donated over $11,000 that funded or partially funded grants for an updated 3D printer, matching black tablecloths for art displays for the art dept, support for the LHS Best Buddies program, support for students to attend MO Boys and Girls State, an Ipad for fine art students, a redesign of the counseling office entry in partnership with LHS students/classes, and new seating for the Library.

Applications may come from students, staff, and students. Grant requests should align with the Lancer Parent Organization Mission which includes the following objectives:

(please note, grant applications do not need to align with all mission objectives to be considered but do need to meet at least one objective)

The LPO's mission is to:

  • Promote the welfare and education of Lafayette High School Students

  • Support the School in improving education in cooperation with administrative policy

  • Raise funds for programs and materials to enhance education

  • Bring about a closer relationship between the home and school so that parents and teachers may work cooperatively in the education of our students

  • Foster communication, cooperation, support, information and education within the Rockwood School District and LHS, including district and LHS staff, students, parents and the general community.

Priorities

All grant requests should be for programs, projects or materials that enhance Lafayette High School. Priority will be given to grant applications that:

  • Have a clear purpose.

  • Address a specific need of the LHS community.

  • Benefit a large number of LHS students, staff and/ or community members.

  • Unique and creative projects benefiting smaller groups are considered as well

  • Have no other avenue for funding (district, school, corporate, parent, etc.)

  • Have matching funds from other sources.

For grant requests to be considered, submissions must be received by Tuesday, March 26th at 4pm. Please read the RFP for grant proposals for more details and information.
