Lancer Parent Organization News

Dear Lancer Families,

It has been a great fall at LHS! Our students have been actively participating in school, sports, clubs, and the arts. Parents, thank you for showing up and being an active part of your child’s experience! As we move toward winter, I want to highlight a few ways you can continue to be involved. LHS is currently running its canned food drive Together We Can, as well as still striving to reach our Lancer Legacy Campaign goal of $10,000.

Our classes have begun to plan their class fundraisers to raise money to offset costs for their senior year activities. The Classes of 2024, 2025, and 2026 each will have a fundraiser this year and are in need of OUR support in order to be successful. Please see the class info to see how you can connect!

Speaking of senior year activities- Class of 2023 parents, your class directors and volunteers are planning a wonderful year! Please make sure to read and follow all the information coming out about events as well as graduation information to make sure you don’t miss anything.

Together We Can!

Lafayette’s annual Canned Food drive - “Together We Can” has begun!! Thank you to so many of you who have already donated to the LHS ‘Together We Can' 2022. These items help provide relief for local families in need.

If you would like a specific teacher’s homeroom to receive the cans please add their name to the address along with your student's name or send it to Kirti Mehrotra, Lafayette High School, 17050 Clayton Road, Wildwood, MO 63011.

Lancer Legacy Campaign

PLEASE help us reach our $10,000 goal today. We are getting closer, thanks to the generous support of our Lancer families, but are seeking an additional $2,100 to reach our goal. The Legacy Campaign is the ONLY fundraising campaign that supports the Lancer Parent Organization as a whole. These donations are used to improve educational opportunities for our students, support our staff, and help foster community relationships. Will you please join us? When you make a donation:

  • 100% of your contribution goes to benefit Lafayette.

  • Your donation is tax deductible.

  • Check with your employer about any matching gift programs. Please list Lancer Parent Organization as the recipient organization with our address (17050 Clayton Road, Wildwood, MO 63011) and include our EIN 43-1550161.

Please consider making a donation to make a lasting impact.

CLASS OF 2023
SENIOR CELEBRATION & MEMORY MAKERS EVENTS

Our first Senior Celebration and Events meeting was a success. We are excited about everything ahead for the Class of 2023. Ticket Sales are now available for the four Memory Makers and Senior Celebration.

Senior Celebration is a drug and alcohol-free lock-in for all graduating seniors that includes entertainment, games, prizes, food, and drinks. It is also a fun way for the graduates to be together for one more time.

It is held at Amp Up Action Park on June 3-4, 2023, from 11:00 pm-5:00 am.

Tickets are now available at https://lhslpo2023.square.site. Register by clicking “senior events” and earn the first-in-first-out bonus, which is our order of releasing students at the conclusion of Celebration on June 4. The cost per student is $65 until January 31, 2023. The price goes to $75 at 12:01 am on February 1, 2023.

Please know that students are not turned away for an inability to pay. If cost is an issue, please contact the Senior Office at (636) 733-4112.

Memory Makers are four separate events the weekend of March 10-12, 2023 that are meaningful celebrations for seniors and their parents, guardians, or other important person. The cost for each event is $70/pair or $35/ticket (there are a lot of twins in the class).

The Father/Son Game Night is Friday, March 10. The Mother/Son Brunch and Father/Daughter Dance are both on Saturday, March 11 while the Mother/Daughter Bunco & Brunch is Sunday, March 12.

If you have questions about any of the senior events, please email lhscelebration@gmail.com.

AND DON’T FORGET...

READ the emails from Dr. Jones in the Senior Office every week as we will publish important information for the Class of 2023 office as well as the e-newsletters.

Good to know: If you’ve ever blocked an email from an “rsdmo.org” sender, you are probably missing important communications, which is critical to not missing ANY senior information.

Please remember we are both available to answer any questions via text, phone, and email.

CLASS OF 2024

We can’t believe how quickly time is flying! Our kids will be graduating before we know it and there’s lots to do between now and then.

TRIVIA NIGHT will be held on February 25, 2023 and this will be the Class of 2024’s major fundraiser. All funds will be used to offset costs for events during our kids’ senior year, including Memory Maker Events (Father/Son, Father Daughter, Mother/Son, Mother/Daughter) and Senior Celebration, an alcohol-free lock in that is held on graduation night.

These events are very expensive to put on and this fundraiser will help us defray some costs. A HUGE thank you to LaDonna Ellis & Kristin Kilmer for leading the planning for this event. IF you have questions or want to help but can’t make the meetings, please reach out to them at:

 ellisld@yahoo.com or the_kilmers@sbcglobal.net

Following are dates for organizational meetings at 7pm:

Wednesday November 16th, 2022

Wednesday December 14th, 2022

Wednesday January 25th, 2023 - Via Zoom
